Former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has backed Liverpool to win the Premier League title this season.
Lescott doesn’t think Man City have what it takes to win it this term, adding that Liverpool will get the job done this year.
Liverpool will go top of the Premier League table if they beat Sheffield United on Thursday night.
This season’s title race is between Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Lescott said he believed that Liverpool would emerge as winners at the end of the campaign.
“In a sense, it’s gone into Liverpool’s hands [after the weekend results],” Lescott said.
“You don’t want Man City chasing you obviously, but overall, I believe—and it pains me to say it—Liverpool get the job done.”
